God’s been good to us.

Despite the uncertain state of today’s world – despite the evil, wickedness and tragedy in the world, the fear, the anxiety - God is still extremely good to us as a people. It is only by His grace and mercy that we are even able to wake up every day and take deep breaths and effectively move our limbs and articulate our speech….truly God is good to us in ways too numerous to calculate.

Typically, when someone is good to you, the response to that generosity is to react in kind, or to reciprocate the goodness. But we can’t reciprocate the goodness that God shows towards us – we can’t show that back to Him because He doesn’t need anything from us. His Holy and divine nature precludes a wretched and imperfect us from every being able to do anything for an all-perfect Him.

So instead, we reciprocate His goodness towards us by being OBEDIENT to what He says and has said, in His Word, and particularly, by doing and being what His Son was to us as a people.

Jesus specifically told His Believers that HE was giving them “a new commandment” - that we love EACH OTHER in the same way that He loved us. In our doing so, He said, people will know that we belong to Him. He knew that taking care of our neighbors and looking out for one another makes for a stronger WORLD community and reflects both His and God’s glory on Earth….when we all do a little in His name, we can do so much!

Hence the mission of Benevolent Faith (“BF”) Ministries…..to serve and minister to the poor, the elderly, the at-risk, and the generally underserved members of the public, as well as to develop mature Believers in Christ through strictly bible-based teaching and preaching……ALL as guided by the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

We do this by engaging in volunteer work; by serving in the community in whatever capacity is necessary (e.g., food banks/food trucks/food drives, etc.); by raising funds for and partnering with charitable organizations; by engaging in Kingdom ministry (e.g., benevolence, prayer, etc.) at locations throughout our communities (e.g., nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, etc.) ; by participating in mentoring programs for youth, particularly at-risk youth; and by promoting and engaging in sound biblical teaching and preaching that builds mature Believers in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, such that they have the type of relationship with Him which gives clarity on the will of God for their lives.

God’s been good to us.

It’s past time we be JUST AS good to each other, as He has instructed us to do, amen?
